Senior Applications Scientist
Jeffrey Ahlgren obtained his B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His Ph.D. thesis subject described the comparative aspects of the biochemistry and physiology of antifreeze glycopeptides from Antarctic fish. Dr. Ahlgren completed two years of post-doctoral research in the Department of Biochemistry at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, studying mammalian glycosyl transferase enzymes. Prior to joining Wyatt Technology in 2002, he spent 13 years as a Research Chemist for the Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, at the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research in Peoria, Illinois. His research interests include microbial polysaccharides and enzymatic methods for the modification of polysaccharides.
