Eclipse Software

Eclipse

The Eclipse software controls the Eclipse Field Flow Fractionation (FFF) system. Coupled with ASTRA® for data collection and analysis, the Eclipse provides users with a turn-key solution for macromolecular characterization.

The Eclipse software has a familiar graphical interface and many functions that enable you to run the system without being an FFF expert. Methods can be developed with just a few mouse clicks using a software wizard; loading predefined separation methods quickly assembles autosampler sequences. Automated rinsing steps ensure that no sample carry-over compromises the results of the separation.

The Eclipse software has been designed for intuitive operation. After the detector and cross flow rates are entered, the Eclipse optimizes the details of programming the pumps and valves, and checks that the values entered are within valid ranges. The pressure in the channel is monitored continuously via a feedback loop, and the pumps are stopped automatically if the maximum pressure is exceeded. The main software screen has controls for operating the pumps and valves manually. It also displays the system status and provides menus for automating system maintenance and sample running.

The main screen of the Eclipse software allows for easy manual adjustment of flow rates for channel, cross, and injection flows in both elution and focus mode. The flow diagram can also be viewed simultaneously.

Eclipse Menu Service

The Menu Service screen incorporates a valve control to adjust sample "focusing", a preliminary step for sample separation. No manual adjustment is needed. Perfect sample focusing and relaxation are achieved with just a few mouse clicks.

Flow mode and flow rates are controlled with single mouse clicks. Method development is done with a software Wizard that generates a complete table of control instructions from just a few mouse clicks. The method can be modified later in order to edit or append additional processes.

Agilent control

The Eclipse software provides control of selected Agilent pumps and autosamplers. Automatic dilution and mixing of samples are supported for autosamplers with large loop (900 mL) options by the Eclipse software.

Sequence Wizard

The Sequence-Wizard is used to define a queue of samples with all the relevant parameters that define the injection and separation method.

Sequence

A set of samples can be combined to build a sequence, for high productivity and throughput in sample processing.

Single method

Methods and sequences are stored in libraries. The Single Method screen shows a graphical representation of the method. The table of flow rates at specified times can be edited by typing into appropriate fields; adding or deleting lines is done simply by clicking on command buttons.
