Philadelphia AAV Workshop & Advanced Training

Join us in Philadelphia to learn about AAV analysis by light scattering on October 25!

Adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based viral vectors have emerged as popular delivery vehicles in gene therapy owing to their lack of pathogenicity, low immunogenicity, and ability to deliver therapeutic genomes into a wide range of host cells. To ensure the safety and efficacy of viral vector-based drug products, it is essential to implement robust and reliable characterization and quantitation analytics throughout the development and manufacturing process. Join us for one or both these events on Tuesday, October 25, to learn more.

AAV Workshop: Industrial case studies and introduction to quantifying AAV CQAs by light scattering
8:30 AM - Open to all

In this workshop, we will discuss the SEC-MALS method for measuring multiple CQAs in a single 30-min run and with an LOQ of 5x1010 mL-1. These CQAs include Cp (total titer), Vg, E/F, and percentage of small aggregates. Strategies for using SEC-MALS in QC as a release assay will also be shared in detail. Additionally, AAV solutions using DLS (for screening size, particle concentration, and stability), FFF (for quantifying all aggregates), and in-line monitoring (for process development) tools will be presented as well.

The workshop is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about light scattering tools for AAV analysis. Admission is free, and complimentary continental breakfast is included.

AAV Advanced Method Training: How to quantify AAV CQAs by light scattering
11:00 AM - Wyatt SEC-MALS instrument users only

This meeting is exclusively for active SEC-MALS users with ASTRA’s Viral Vector Analysis. We will provide step-by-step training on how to use SEC-MALS and Wyatt’s Viral Vector Analysis to quantify AAV CQAs using the AAV SOP Guidance Manual as reference. We will also provide guidance on best practices on using DLS and FFF-MALS for AAV analysis. At the end of the meeting, we will offer data review opportunities to those who do not mind staying late. Admission is free, and a complimentary lunch will be provided.
