Methods and System Profiles

In ASTRA, the components of a measurement are the (1) instrument configuration, (2) the data collection and analysis procedures, and (3) the presentation results. The grouping of these components is called an experiment.


It is possible to save an experiment as a method. Methods can be used for the creation of new experiments, or to re-analyze data in a different way. Out-of-the box, ASTRA comes with 80 system methods that enable novice users to start using ASTRA at its full potential immediately. Advanced users with special needs can also build custom methods.

System Profiles

Individual profiles or custom configurations of instruments can be saved as system profiles within ASTRA. These system profiles can be re-used in different experiments, making it simple to store default information.
