microCUVETTE

microCUVETTE The microCUVETTE accessory for the DAWN HELEOS II makes it possible to perform 90° static and dynamic light scattering measurements with sample volumes as small as 10 µL!

While static light scattering measurements are limited to macromolecules and nanoparticles below ~ 10 nm in radius, upon installation of a WyattQELS module in the MALS detector, the entire size range is accessible to DLS analysis of size and size distributions.

The microCUVETTE Adapter Kit makes it easy to study time-dependent characteristics of an aggregation-prone protein (time scales on the order of a minute or longer). Precious samples can be recovered, yet the quartz microCUVETTE is easily cleaned.

In CG-MALS, highly concentrated or otherwise viscous proteins are often not amenable to Calypso operation, and may also foul the flow cell. Hence it is often best to use the microCUVETTE with manual dilutions. Besides overcoming viscosity issues, this greatly reduces sample volume and enables easy cleaning of the measurement cell.
