Request: Advantages of FFF-MALS over SEC-MALS for the Determination of Molar Mass and Size Distribution of Polysaccharides

Size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) has been widely used for the determination of molar mass and molar mass distribution of various natural biopolymers. However, the lack of appropriate calibration standards and non-ideal separation due to column interactions often causes misleading and incorrect results.

This webinar explores the capabilities of the two separation techniques SEC and field-flow fractionation (FFF) for characterizing the molar mass, size as well as distribution of sulfated polysaccharides extracted from brown algae, none as fucoidan. Most of the non-ideal separation can be eliminated by applying the alternative separation technique FFF.
