Stabilization of a Protein by a Peptide Mini-Chaperone [poster]

aAG98R Mutant Protein

The G98R mutation in αA-crystallin is associated with autosomal dominant cataract in humans. The objective of the present study was to determine the effect of a ’mini-chaperone’ on the stability of mutant αA-crystallin (αAG98R) protein. αA-mini-chaperone is αA-crystallinderived peptide which stabilizes the denaturing substrate proteins and prevents them from aggregation and precipitation.
