In a pharmaceutical drug the excipients can make up 90% of the total mass. Excipients therefore play an important role in the performance of a drug. For example, the molar mass and branching degree of polymer excipients impact the viscosity and rate of drug release. In this webinar we show how light scattering is an excellent tool to characterize the molar mass, viscosity, branching degree, conformation, conjugation, and size of excipients.
